For every message we receive, there are many paths our minds can take. What you hear may be the key to what you’ve been hoping for, but it depends on how you perceive the information you receive. Imagine hearing that someone in an important position at a company that you work for is leaving at a critical time. The state of your mindset can lead you down one of two paths. This reminds me of the phrase below that I show participants at the workshop I facilitate where we explore the power of using data, or information, for planning.
OPPPORTUNITYISNOWHERE
What do you see? In the situation mentioned above, the person who saw ‘opportunity is nowhere’ most likely focused on the negative impact that the person leaving would have on the company. The person who saw ‘opportunity is now here’ heard an opening for new consulting work or for advancement and growth as an employee of the company. If your ear for opportunity is clogged, here are a few simple questions to ask yourself that will help you to clear them and shift your mindset. What opportunity does this obstacle create? When we shift our focus from what’s challenging about a situation, we find clarity on how we can contribute to the solution. What growth might come from this struggle? The most accomplished influencers often got that way because a massive setback motivated them to make a meaningful impact in business and their community. What product or service could I provide to solve this problem? The most prosperous innovators and entrepreneurs find their fortunes by designing systems that address our greatest pain points. This week I challenge you to listen louder so you can hear the opportunity in every obstacle. Manifestation Affirmations I am listening actively and open to possibility. I am focused on solutions.
