Your Life Is Listening

Have you noticed that when you say something near your smartphone, advertisements for products and services related to the thing you mentioned begin popping up in your social media news feeds? This also happens after you search or shop for goods online. Suddenly, you are inundated with the things that you have been speaking or seeking.  Much like these advancements in technology, the things that we say, think and write show up in our lives. If we aren’t intentional about our words, it is likely that we will receive what we don’t want.  Take inventory of what you’ve been communicating about yourself and your life even when you are joking. Is your vocabulary in alignment with what you truly desire? Remember, your subconscious can’t tell the difference, so focus on what you want because your words and thoughts are the most powerful tools you can use to manifest a life you love. Here are a few quick tips that will accelerate this important mindset and behavior shift: 1. Add words to your routines. Our thoughts are often most vulnerable and subject to going in an undesirable direction when we wake up in the morning and right before we go to bed at night. This is particularly true before and after engaging in activities that induce anxiety. You can counter this by incorporating affirmative words into your morning and evening routines. These times of the day provide the perfect opportunities to shift from self-defeating talk and limiting beliefs to words and thoughts that align with what we wish to be, do and feel. Use this time to state or write sentences or simply single words that represents how you want to feel or what you want to have. Frame your phrases in the present tense as if what you want already belongs to you right now.  2. Focus on what’s right with you. “What’s wrong with you?” is probably the single most unhelpful question that one could ever ask. What if we replaced that dreadful question with, “What’s right with you?” Each day, a few things may not go our way. When this happens, we are quick to write off the entire day, saying statements like “It’s one of those days…” or worse. Instead of focusing on the three or so things that went wrong, what if we took stock of the hundreds of small things that went right? A good place to start speaking words of gratitude for these small things is in the shower. You are already winning if you have access to clean and hot water. The next best place is during your morning commute, because unlike many, you have access to reliable transportation.  3. Scroll on. When the ads that you have attracted pop up on your screens, you have two options. You can click on them and get sucked into a spiral of buying things you don’t need, or you can notice them and keep it moving.  The same is true with your mental and verbal words. When they come up or out, you must scroll on, or replace them with positive and affirming words.  This week I challenge you to be mindful of the words that you communicate. Pick one solid strategy to hold yourself accountable for being intentional about the messages you send to the universe. What do you really want? What do you really need? Speak, write and think that. Your life is listening.  Manifestation Affirmations  I am healthy, happy and whole. I am grateful for all that I have right now.  I am attracting things and relationships that serve my greater good.
